Saltwater Fishing Decline …More Than Overfishing

For several years now the saltwater fishing industry has been in a spiral of sorts. We’ve seen an alarming decline in the Southeastern United States as well as other regions. In many cases, it’s proven to be a fight between the commercial and the recreational fishermen as to the cause of this continuing decline. This led to a large gap between both
fishing groups as the reduction in fisheries worsened. This also resulted in the tightening of regulations for both commercial and recreational anglers, which has also resulted in a negative impact on supporting businesses like tackle shops, boat sales, charter fishing, and many other areas.
